Designing Documents and Websites

While reading through chapter seven one of the things I found interesting and thought was very helpful was their use of examples in explaining proximity, alignment, repetition and contrast. The pictures they gave to go along with the examples were spot on and gave me a better understanding of what to look for on a document when it comes to proximity, alignment, repetition and contrast. I also found it interesting when they were writing about the three principles chunking, queuing and filtering. I like how chunking is more involved with spacing between paragraphs and how queuing and filtering are more involved with images/visuals. Also it was interesting reading this portion of chapter seven because I have never heard the words queuing or chunking when it comes to writing. What surprised me in this chapter is how extensive the study of typography is. From type faces all the way to what justification to use.
